Our Investiture Ceremony

We are proud to announce that Daisy Troop 16581 was invested into the world of Girl Scouting. Saturday, February 20, we celebrated the success of our Daisies beginning their journeys as girl scouts! We had a cute, short, sweet, to-the-point ceremony. We learned a little bit about Juliette Low, and how Girls Scouts was created, some 98 years ago. The girls all received daisies head wreaths (made specially by one of our Troop Dad's) and their beginning certificate as well as the their Daisy and Girl Scout pins.

One of our Troop's Mom made this beautiful daisy. Thanks Cindy!

Cookie Sales a Success

We did it! As a troop we have successfully sold 1637 boxes of girl scout cookies so far. Though we aren't yet done with selling these delicious cookies, we want to thank everyone who supported us by ordering a box (or more) of Girl Scout cookies. We will be selling more cookies once boothing comes about in March (boothing means we'll be hanging out in front of your local grocery store or drug store). So if you didn't get an opportunity to buy a box yet, it's not too late.

At today's meeting, we learned a few new Girl Scout songs, thanks to Faye, and made our invitations for our upcoming Investiture Ceremony. Basically, an Investiture Ceremony is a special ceremony in which a new member makes her Girl Scout Promise, receives her Daisy Scout pin, and is recognized as a member of Girl Scouts. The ceremony will take place at our next scheduled meeting.

That's about the sum of it. See you soon!

Consider well it's importance,
And when made,
Engrave it upon your heart"
