At our 5th Daisy meeting, this week, we learned what it means to be honest and fair. The girls seemed to grasp the concept very well. In addition to learning new character traits, we celebrated two special birthdays: one of our own Daisy Girl Scout, Elena, and the birthday of Girl Scout (March 12).
A little trivia on Girl Scouts...
March 12, 1912, Juliette Low, the founder of Girl Scouts, registered 18 girls as American Girl Guides. Margaret "Daisy Doots" Gordon, Juliette's niece and namesake, was the first registered member. The following year the name of the organization was changed to Girl Scouts.
Happy 6th Birthday Elena!
Happy 98th Birthday Girl Scouts!
Oh and though a month late, Yvette celebrated her 6th birthday in February.
Happy Belated Birthday Yvette!
In other news...
You've all recently seen us hanging out in front of your favorite shopping centers and banks. The Girl Scouts are now selling more and more of our famous cookies at your local establishments. And we will be continuing to do so until March 21. So if you haven't gotten enough of our scrumptious cookies yet, track us down. Our girls are proving to be quite the little sellers (perhaps it helps that they are all so adorable). So please come support our Girl Scouts and buy one more box from us. Or donate a box or two to our Military troops (our girls will get the credit for all donations given). Thank you everyone for your support!
